So the tree went up tonight. Michael works in a garden centre so he got a beautiful real one for free. It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas round here!
I've set up this blog to link in with my Ravelry account, so I can talk about my crochet and knitting projects, wibble on about my life, and occasionally even talk about something serious.
At the moment, I'm working on some two-needle mittens. Being sausage-fingered and cack-handed, I can't work with double pointed needles, so this pattern has been a boon. I'm currently trying to decide whether to do the full on mittens or whether to make them fingerless. Fingerless is winning because then, I won't have to do all that boring shaping.
I'm also looking around for inspiration for my niece, who is having another baby. I want to make something nice for the new wee one, who'll be along in July. At the moment, I'm thinking a real, old-fashioned layette set all done in yellow, the traditional gender-neutral colour. Or perhaps some kind of interesting blanket or shawl. I haven't decided.
